From social media to customers: connect the post to the website
A post can attract attention, but the journey stops if people cannot understand what to do after clicking. Instead of judging a social plan only by post count, decide which decision each piece of content prepares a visitor to make.
Give every piece of content a job
A post may introduce your brand, explain a question, build confidence or start a conversation. Expecting all four from one post dilutes the message. A short product demonstration can lead to a technical explanation. A post answering a customer question can connect to a guide that explains the service scope.
Continue the promise on the landing page
A post about corporate website packages should lead to relevant information. The destination should address the same need, show scope and examples, and make contact easy. Check the first mobile screen: can a person arriving from the post tell that they are in the right place?
Define measurement conventions early
UTM parameters can distinguish the sources of campaign visits. Use consistent source, medium and campaign naming. Avoid mixing names such as “Instagram” and “instagram” in the same reporting period. Do not include names, phone numbers or other personal information in campaign parameters.
Separate clicks from qualified enquiries
Clicking a WhatsApp button does not mean a message was sent or a sale happened. Opening a form and successfully delivering an enquiry are also different events. Analytics can track an important action as a key event, but your team still needs to assess the commercial quality of the enquiry.
Create a four-week learning cycle
In week one, list current customer questions and destination pages. In week two, create two different explanations of the same service. In week three, review clicks alongside the questions you received. In week four, improve the useful content. This is a practical starting framework for a small team, not a performance promise or universal schedule.
End the report with a decision
Go beyond tables of reach and likes. Which content started a useful conversation? Which question remains unanswered? Which page needs improvement? Finish every report with a production decision and a responsible person. Social media can then work as part of the same system as your website and sales process.
Frequently asked questions
How many posts should we publish?
Choose a sustainable schedule based on your goals, production capacity and platform. Each piece should meet a specific need.
Is a WhatsApp click a sale?
No. A click, conversation and sale are separate steps and should be measured separately.
