Verify the dated change first

The Google Search Central update log states that FAQ rich results stopped appearing from 7 May 2026 and that the documentation was removed on 15 June. Older screenshots therefore cannot support a promise about today’s delivery. This does not mean that useful question-and-answer content is prohibited on a website. Evaluate the retired search feature separately from the information visitors can read on the page.

Choose an actual customer decision

Our original example is a fictional workshop offering made-to-order furniture. Visitors still need answers to “Who takes the measurements?” and “What should I prepare for a quotation?” Those answers must reflect the real operating process. Avoid generating ten near-identical questions just to repeat a keyword. Combine scope, required information and the next step into a clear answer instead of spreading one question across several variations.

Place the answer where it becomes relevant

If measuring is fundamental to the service, do not hide it exclusively in an FAQ at the bottom. Give the main service explanation a concise answer, then use further questions for detail. A question about quotation preparation can lead to the appropriate contact route. Avoid unnecessary page chains. If expandable sections are used, provide clear headings and ensure the information can be reached with a keyboard. Test the arrangement through a realistic reading task.

Separate the markup inventory from the content inventory

Ask the developer to identify which structured-data types are produced on which pages. If FAQPage markup already exists, do not report it as an active mechanism for the retired Google appearance. Keeping or removing it can be a separate technical decision after reviewing dependent tools and maintenance cost. Do not commission new markup solely to recover an obsolete search display; each delivery item should have a current, clearly described purpose.

Evaluate whether the answer helps someone act

Ask a participant what they would prepare before requesting a workshop quotation. Correct missing information, unclear terms and contradictions. If real site data is available, review relevant search queries and the enquiry journey separately. Avoid attributing every traffic difference after a content edit to that one edit. Without evidence, do not claim that a revised FAQ generated more customers or reduced support demand.

Assign an owner and a review date

When the operating process changes, the answer should not remain frozen. Assign important questions to an owner and record the last verification date. Turkish and English versions must describe the same scope; a service should not appear free in one version and paid in the other. Include this review in SEO content maintenance. Our service page structure guide helps decide where answers belong. Accurate information remains useful without guaranteeing a particular ranking or display.

Frequently asked questions

Should we remove FAQ sections from the website?

Not simply because this search feature was retired. Review each answer for accuracy, user need and placement before deciding.

Does passing a markup test guarantee a search appearance?

No. Technical validation does not guarantee a specific search display and cannot restore a retired feature.
